Community Violence Support Services Clinical Manager Full-Time (40 hours per week), Exempt Reports directly to the Senior Manager of Clinical and Community WellnessBroader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development (BUILD, Inc) is seeking a committed, self-motivated, enthusiastic professional to join the Clinical and Community Wellness Services team in the role of Community Violence Support Services (CVSS) Clinical Manager. Since 1969, BUILD has worked in some of Chicago's toughest neighborhoods giving at-risk youth alternatives to the violence that takes away their positive potential. Applying our model of positive youth development, BUILD seeks to redirect the behavior of gang-affiliated youth and potential gang recruits in order to improve their chances of leading fulfilling lives and to increase the stability and safety of the communities in which they reside.Community Violence Support Services (CVSS) Clinical Manager is responsible for the successful implementation, on-going program development and day to day maintenance of the program including but not limited to supervising a team of master's level mental health professionals as securing annual internships for Social Work and Counseling students from various academic institutions. In addition, the Community Violence Support Services Clinical Manager will provide assessment, short-term counseling, referral, and follow-up service to a small number of youth and families. The candidate must beself-directed, have team management skills, strong project management skills, and a consistent focus on health and wellness. Candidates must be able to work with a diverse workforce in worksite settings, while keeping up on mental health trends, organization communication plans, and supporting overall program delivery needs.The CVSS Clinical Manager is responsible for:Effectively addressing the mental health/substance abuse needs of high-risk youth through a) ongoing training of staff to identify youth mental health/substance abuse issues and provide front-line support; b) in-field support and consultation; c) initial short-term treatment and referrals; d) establishing referral partners and identifying opportunities for more formal collaboration; and e) facilitating external referrals, follow-through/support.Manage the CVSS Program, including grant deliverables, staff supervision and budget oversight Strategic and Long-Range Planning and PerformanceSupport in the designing, planning, coordination, and delivery of innovative programs and initiatives that are aligned with the Mental Health Program designResponsible for integrating and maintaining program quality with productivity standards and systems.Responsible for standardization and management of agency mental health resources to assure best practices and alignment with social work and case management resources.Collaborates with and provides leadership to internal and external experts in developing new programs and services that are responsive to changing populations and community needs; and to achieve appropriate service integrationProvides response to funder or other relevant stakeholder on matters related to agency direct service practices.Performs other job-related duties as requested, required and/or assigned.Communication and relationship managementRepresents the agency to various publics to broaden community awareness and support, interpreting the agency's programs and services.Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the BUILD model and to solicit input to improve the programs.Maintains relationships with various partners including, but not limited to, schools, government agencies and community-based organizations.Submit all required documentation, as requested including, but not limited to assessments, evaluations, progress reports, etc.Participates in agency wide fundraising events.Encourages participant/community participation in agency wide fundraising eventsInternal staff management and developmentExemplifies the mission, vision and values of the agency.Supervises, evaluates, supports and manages staff and makes recommendations on agency personnel practices and policies.Work with team and front-line staff to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.Maintains knowledge current in the field including, but not limited to, attendance at seminars, workshops, etc.Maintains knowledge current on agency's theories, methodologies and best practices.Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate ongoing training in accordance with organizational standards.Attends departmental and agency-wide staff meetings, as scheduled and agency-wide events as required.Supervise clinical interns in accordance with respective program requirementsSupervises maintenance of the database ETO, CIS and filing system that tracks program activities and participant records.Collect data on health and wellness activities for benchmarking, summarize and report on the results of monthly, quarterly or as neededCoordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiencyDirect ServiceReceives case assignments, establishes treatment plans, reviews case progress and determines case closure.Provides individual counseling to address presenting problems of clients.Makes referrals in accordance with service plans to other organization units and external providers.Participates and contributes in regular supervision meetings, team meetings, in house training sessions and conferences.Provides intense advocacy, crisis intervention, counseling and problem solving in a variety of areas for all clients.Maintains documentation of client's individual and group treatment.Adheres to professional standards as outlined by governmental bodies, NASW (and/or other appropriate professional associations), private funding sourcesFinancial and operational managementAssists in preparing program funding proposals, budgets and related reports.Monitor budgets and review check requests to ensure spending is on trackEnsure contractual compliance and determine allowable costs as grant-specific funds are requested.QualificationsMaster's in social work, Counseling or other Qualified Clinical Licensed Program, Hold Clinical license or working towards licensure within the next 12 months.Minimum experience of 3 years in working inner-city youth.Operate professionally in the field on a flexible time schedule Self-motivated leader with the ability to energize interns and volunteers. Communicate in a friendly and informative manner with people from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles.Demonstrates good judgment and ability to work independently as a part of a teamMust be driven to succeed, organized, proactive, innovative, responsible, and assertive, possess integrity and the ability to motivate others.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to handle multiple tasks and deadline simultaneously effectively and efficientlyMust work effectively with agency staff, board members, funders, donors and volunteersMust possess solid understanding of data collection and program evaluationMust maintain respectful and appropriate relationships with program participants, all levels of agency staff and various publics of the agency, demonstrating sensitivity to all ethnic, racial and economic backgrounds and embracing the agency's mission, values and culture.Must be able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19West Side Residents strongly encouraged to apply Bilingual English/Spanish desirableThis organization reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities as the need arises.
