Mitesh was born and raised in the Cleveland area. He attended a private boarding school in Ohio, Western Reserve Academy, to complete his high school education. He entered Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME), a combined BA/MD program allowing him to graduate in three years with a guaranteed acceptance to Northwestern's Feinberg School of Medicine.
